Lucy Rowland | Yoga Teacher

During her Dance degree, Lucy was first introduced to Yoga as a tool for strength and flexibility training. However, she continued practicing for its transformative effect on her mental health and relationship to her body.

In 2018, she completed 200 hours of teacher training in Vinyasa Yoga and has since expanded her expertise to include yoga for children, mindfulness, pre/postnatal coaching, somatics, breathwork, meditation, and anatomy.

Her mission is to support others through movement and mindfulness, offering both physical and emotional guidance, no matter what stage of life they’re in.

What’s covered in the course?

DAY 1: Connecting to your inner resource and setting intentions Watch Day 1 for free

  • Try setting intentions to shift into a positive mindset.
  • A meditation to stop the searching for answers and connect into your own powerful intuition.

DAY 2: Meditation to tune in, connect to the present

  • Try out a key pillar of mindfulness, the art of being present.
  • Focusing on the present helps quieten the mental chatter.

DAY 3: Process through journalling

  • Getting thoughts down on paper can stop them swirling around your head and gain some perspective.
  • You do not need to be a writer.

DAY 4: Connect to your breath

  • The body, breath, mind and emotions are intrinsically linked to our nervous system. The more oxygen we have in our body, the more focused, calm, energetic we are.
  • Conscious breathing is also a powerful practice of presence and mindfulness.

Day 5: Move your body

  • Shake off unwanted tension.
  • Produce positive hormones and endorphins to lift your mood.

Day 6: Showing yourself compassion

  • Energetically, the heart space is our centre of compassion, love, transformation and acceptance.
  • Tuning into our heart helps us clear anything that might be blocking us from feeling into these things.

Day 7: Restore

  • Restorative yoga for when you need a moment of calm in your busy day.
  • This practice is healing for the body. It invites us to slow down, deeply rest and relax.

These practices act as an anchor to help you stay cool, calm and connected, less reactive and keep your nervous system regulated. All of the practices encourage mindfulness in a simple and accessible way so if you are new to yoga and meditation, this is a great introduction.
